If you are wishing to begin practicing Sirsasana, (headstand), you need to have a strong Salamba Sarvangasana (shoulderstand) first. Make a point to practice your inversions 3 times a week, minimum. Once you can hold Salamba Sarvangasana for 5 minutes easily and have been doing so for 6 months, then you can begin Sirsasana. Here is a sequence of poses leading to Sarvangasana.
